DCML

Carie Steelman is an Instructional Specialist for the Capital School District with a focus in elementary mathematics. Her excitement for this work sparks when she’s coordinating and leading high quality and actionable professional learning, as well as, directly supporting building administrators, coaches, and classroom teachers to build student focused environments in her district.

Carie serves as the Kent County Representative for DCML, beginning in 2024. She presented at the 2015 NCTM Conference with two workshops helping educators build connections in elementary math classrooms. She has also worked on several statewide mathematics leadership projects, including EMTL, DCTM, TRU-Math and Leadership Coaching Lab. Carie and her team also presented at the Delaware Triple Crown Conference on the topic of equitable math practices in 2021.

When she’s not at work, she’s enjoying adventures with her two daughters, Alayna and Logyn and husband, Paul, playing in her flower beds, or behind a camera taking portraits, which is her passion.
