Janice Shetzler retired from public education after thirty-seven years of service in Delaware schools. During those years, she worked for a consortium of Delaware districts serving as a K-12 resource teacher, helping teachers implement the Delaware Content Standards and later supporting eight southern districts as part of the DEMCI Project (Local Systemic Initiative NSF Grant). Jan was also a lead writer for the Delaware Student Testing Program and has been recognized as the Delaware’s Presidential Awardee for Excellence in Mathematics. Jan was also a recipient of University of Delaware’s G. Cuthbert Webber Award, an honor bestowed to mathematics educators for their distinguished service and outstanding contributions to the field of mathematics education.

For the past six years, Jan has been working with the Delaware Mathematics Coalition to support teachers in the statewide partnership projects (e.g., TRU-Math, Leadership Coaching Lab, TUPL etc.). Her current responsibilities include serving as a Connector coach and mentor to teachers in the TUPL project, assisting with lesson design and reflection, videotaping lessons, and serving as a thought partner in planning sessions across the year.
