Julie Yakimowicz retired from public education in December 2020 after 31 years of service with the Cape Henlopen School District.  During her time with Cape Henlopen she was a classroom teacher for first and third grade, a math interventionist for Kindergarten to Fifth grade, and held the position of K-5 Elementary Math Specialist before retiring from the district.  In her role as an Elementary Math Specialist she was responsible for coordinating and leading professional development, coaching teachers, and working with students in a small group setting.  Following her retirement, Julie began working with Cignition, Inc., remotely tutoring individual and small groups  of students from around the world.

Julie joined the Delaware Math Coalition’s  Professional Teaching and Learning Team in May of 2021. She currently serves as a facilitator and connector in the organization’s Transforming and Understanding Professional Learning (TUPL) National Science Foundation Project.
