Dr. Michael Reitemeyer is the Mathematics Supervisor for Las Aspira Americas Academy (LAAA) Charter School, a dual language school in New Castle County Delaware. He is a highly respected mathematics leader, served on several state level committees (Assessment Benchmarking, P-20, etc.), and is recognized by the mathematics education community for being a strong thought leader and agent of change. Michael has been a facilitator of problem-based and pedagogical learning for the Delaware Mathematics Coalition’s New Normal PBL Academy (Math Camp), led sessions as part of the TRU-Math and Leadership Coaching Lab projects, and presented at conferences at both the local and national (NCSM, NCTM) levels. Michael was also instrumental in developing lessons and leading training for the Interactive Mathematics Program at the international level (Thailand) and was a finalist for Delaware’s Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Michael received his doctorate in Math Education from the University of Delaware in 2018 and has served on numerous committees to support improvements in mathematics education at the local and state level.
