Philip Wandless is the K-12 Mathematics Specialist for Smyrna School District. He is a highly respected teacher of mathematics and recognized by the Delaware mathematics education community for being a passionate and thoughtful leader. Phil
has been a long-term participant in Delaware Mathematics Coalition’s (DMC) professional learning initiatives. He participated in the Powerful Pedagogical Practices, New Normal, Beyond New Normal, Keen Eye, and Leadership Coaching Lab projects. He was a member of the DMC K-12 Math Leadership Community’s exploratory talk study facilitated by University of Delaware School of Education researcher Dr. Amanda Jansen. Findings from the study were later published in Dr. Jansen’s book “Rough Draft Math: Revising to Learn” and also served as a source of inspiration for an article featuring Phil and several other secondary teachers in the community. 

Phil is a K-5 Bridges mathematics start-up trainer and also serves as a secondary connector coach and facilitator in the Delaware Mathematics Coalition’s Transforming and Understanding Professional Learning (TUPL) NSF project.
