Math leaders at the Delaware Department of Education have been collaborating with district and charter school partners to support the development of a “Toolkit for Social Emotional Learning in the Mathematics Classroom.” The Toolkit includes links to a range of very useful resources to support educational leaders, teachers, and members of the community in supporting the emotional and social needs of their students in the mathematics classroom. Attending to students’ social and emotional wellbeing connects to our goals for promoting students’ sense of belonging, self efficacy, identity, and agency over the mathematics.
